Objective:
I can apply feedback to my writing to write a complete, detailed essay analyzing themes with textual evidence (W 4/9, & RI 1/2).
Entry Task:
As you come in, prepare to play a round of Blooket covering words from lists 1 and 2 to practice before our quiz at the end of the week.
What’s Going On:
Today all your selected rhetorical analyses from our unit texts will be returned to you. Each has feedback specific to your work, and we will go over common areas of improvement as a class with student examples. After our discussion, spend a few minutes overviewing the feedback on your work.
You now have the opportunity to apply the writing feedback you received to improve your writing and complete your first essay. This essay is a guided essay using a template made up of components you have already begun. Together, we will overview the essay template, and then you will have time to begin completing the template individually.
Once you have your template filled in with notes and your ideas, meet with me for a short conference before typing your essay in the posted assignment in Google Classroom.
Exit Task:
Neatly organize all your returned work and your essay template in your binder behind your Interconnectedness unit tab and clean up around you. You will have time tomorrow to complete typing your guided essay.
