23 January: Persepolis Reading Test & Personal Narrative Intro.

Objective:

I can explain how specific incidents impact and reveal aspects of characters, and describe how authors communicate this through text and images, and I can write narratives to develop real experiences or events using effective techniques, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences (RL/RI 3, 5 & W 3).

Entry Task:

As you come in, prepare to play our final round of Blooket before our unit vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

What’s Going On:

Today we will complete a reading test over our book and an excerpt from Part II of Persepolis. However, before you begin work on your test, I will overview our final project for the unit: your Personal Narrative Comic.

After our overview, login to Google Classroom to complete your reading test. Part I of the test covers what we read in class, and part II is a cold read using an excerpt from the second Persepolis book.

Exit Task:

Once you finish your test, any remaining time is yours to begin drafting out your ideas for your personal narrative.
