12 December: MLA Formatting & Research Journey

Objective:

I can integrate information into my research journey to maintain the flow of ideas, avoiding plagiarism and over-reliance on any one source and following a standard format for citation (W 8).


Entry Task:

As you come into class, please log in to our Google Classroom page. We will be starting the research portion of our project today, so we need to go over citations and avoiding plagiarism. You will be completing notes and a practice activity through Google Classroom as we move through this presentation.


Please know, in this class and in future classes, you can easily earn a zero on an assignment (or even an entire class) for plagiarism.


What’s Going On:

The rest of the day is yours to continue your work on your Poetry Research Journey. Your focus today should be on researching your poet and writing your short biography slide (slide 5).


Be sure to gather information from multiple websites and check your in-text citations and Works Cited page!


Exit Task:

Find a good pausing point for the day and use your Project Planner to record your progress. Show this to me for today’s participation points and then clean up around you.
