8 December: Station Eleven 14-15 Independent Reading

Objective:

I can determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact and build on one another to develop my own ideas around the two themes to determine my own beliefs (RL 2).

Entry Task:

As you come into class, prepare for a round of Blooket to study words from lists 5 & 6 for our quiz at the end of the week. Then grab your notebook and a packet from the front table.

What’s Going On:

Today we will continue reading Station Eleven. Today is our first independent reading day for the book. You will be reading today’s chapters independently and completing a reading comprehension quiz as you read. You may choose to read the original text from the book or you may choose to read the summaries with added analysis. Either choice will provide you with the information to answer the questions and to continue the book.

Exit Task:

After reading, be sure to complete the comprehension quiz posted to Google Classroom. Use any remaining class time to check your grades and complete any makeup work as needed.
